Capitol Hoops - How is your AAU season going so far and what is it like playing with the MD Bulls?
Tyler - My AAU season is going well and I enjoy playing for Coach Joe and the Bulls.
Capitol Hoops - You are still very young as a rising freshman , what are you doing to continue to improve your game?
Tyler - I work hard in the gym 5 days a week, hitting the weights, and improving my playing conditioning. I continue to listen to the veteran players, and always try to stay humble and give thanks to Lord for blessing me every day.
Capitol Hoops - What is your favorite subject in school and if you couldn't choose basketball as career what other field might you be interested in and why?
Tyler - My favorite subject in school is English because I enjoy writing. I understand that making it to the NBA is only a small percentage for college players. I would like to attend medical school and become a sports physician for an NBA team.
Capitol Hoops - What kind of experience have you gained from playing basketball at Montrose Christian , a school with a lot of history and a boatload of NBA players. Do you feel pressured because of their success?
Tyler - I feel that playing basketball
for Montrose
Christian is an honor and I feel very lucky to be part of a program with
such rich history. I have really matured in the last two years playing
for Coach Vetter in so many ways.
I feel that Coach Vetter's no nonsense approach, will have me fully
prepared to play for any college. I hear many players come back to thank
him for being so hard on them because they were truly prepared mentally
and physically for the college level of play. I don't have any pressure
because of the success from some of our pro players like Kevin Durant,
because I see first hand that hard work and dedication to getting better
can truly be worth it's weight in gold. I want to also thank Coach
Burke(AD) and Coach Jennifer for their guidance and
support in
the last two years.
Capitol Hoops - What is your favorite NBA team / player?
Tyler - Los Angeles Lakers / Kobe Bryant
Capitol Hoops - Who is your Role Model in life and why?
Tyler - My dad is my role model in life, because he always tells me that life isn't fair on or off the court. My dad is my hardest critic and biggest fan on and off the court. He has taught me to always stay humble, focused and hungry to be successful in life not just as a basketball player. The last two years my dad has helped me understand the importance in giving God the honor and glory for giving so many blessings.
Capitol Hoops - Finish the sentence , When I am not playing basketball I am......
Tyler - Chilling with my friends and family staying in the books and watching Kobe play.
Capitol Hoops - Thanks
Tyler and God Bless
